| The
North Carolina Arboretum is pleased to host 10 regional artists in its
third major juried sculpture show. Kaleidoscope - Contemporary
Landscape Sculpture embraces the opportunity to see things of
beautiful form, pattern and change.
Just as the kaleidoscope - a favorite childhood toy - offers a changeable scene when looking through the mirrored tube, outdoor sculpture can change the view of a landscape by its presence. Art may express change and at the same time offer tradition, familiarity through the use of elemental materials, and expressions of stability. As our mountain environment changes climatically, socially and physically, so too must individuals adapt to change. All sculptures are available for purchase through our shops Connections Gallery or The Garden Trellis. Full color brochures are also availalble. |

circa CINQ
| Julia Stout | Black Mountain, NC
Rhythms of nature repeat themselves through the circles of time. Spiritual sages, Native American spirits, animals and birds from the forests echo their cries, trees old and new call out stories of our history and flowers and herbs blooming in our gardens all open my heart to create art. My work is the harmony from each of these treasures and the preciousness of being present to the co-dependency of all things on this earth. 2005/2008, Painted Welded
Steel, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20 x 5

Two By |
