Gates & Gatehouses

This will create appropriate gating and gatehouses at the Arboretum's two primary entrances: 1) the Main Entrance at the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 2) the Service gate at Wesley Branch Road. The completion of fencing the 426-acre property and the core area, coupled with the construction of the Main Entrance Road to the Blue Ridge Parkway, make the placement of these entrance elements necessary.  In addition to the function of security, the entrance gatehouses will serve as the visitor's first impression of the institution, a place of orientation and information. This project will also include entrance signage.
