The NC Arboretum features hundreds of award-winning plants in both permanent
landscapes and seasonal garden exhibits.  We have carefully chosen a collection of
trees, shrubs, and perennials that represent twelve outstanding plant award programs.

How do we choose the plants and award programs to feature?
Through our own competition - the finalists best met the following criteria:

	Plants with proven performance in the Eastern United States
	Plants that have received awards from independent groups.
	Regional, national and international organizations representing a wide range of award programs.
