Dahlia, Chrysanthemum & Hydrangea
Plant Sales
Just in time for the planting season, The North Carolina Arboretum hosts two annual plant sales in May.
1. Carolinas Dahlia Society and North Carolina Chrysanthemum Society: two sale days will occur this year, one on Saturday, May 10 in the Education Center, and the other on Tuesday, May 13 in the Baker Exhibit Center, both from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while supplies last. Pick from a wide selection of dahlia tubers and rooted chrysanthemum cuttings. The sale features cultivated varieties that are ready to plant this spring to produce show quality blooms in late summer.
2. The Blue Ridge Hydrangea Society: called “Hydrangea Fever,” this annual plant sale will occur on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Education Center. Hundreds of hydrangeas suitable for nearly any garden will be available for purchase, and the society will showcase highly prized and unusual specimens.
During this annual event, Linda Shapiro, president and founder of the society, will be available to answer questions and provide additional information.
Events and activities at The North Carolina Arboretum are free unless otherwise indicated; usual parking fees apply. For more information, visit www.ncarboretum.org or call 828-665-2492.
