Click here to browse our current calendar of adult education classes. Sign up early! Classes can fill very quickly and we are rarely able to schedule additional sessions. Prepayment is required to guarantee your space in all adult education programs.
We use a safe, secure, online registration system: When you register online, the registration system accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Online payment via credit card is secure, fast, easy and will guarantee that your registration is processed immediately. You will also receive an email confirmation shortly after the transaction is completed. We are using a certificate: 128-bit SSL encryption. If you are not an Arboretum Society Member and register for a course through the online system, you will be charged the Member registration fee immediately and the remaining program fee within a week.
You can also register by phone and "snail mail." If you register by phone or mail, the Registrar accepts personal checks and money orders, Visa, Mastercard and Discover Cards. To register by phone, call the Registrar at 828-665-2492, x317. Please note that messages are checked regularly, but your phone call may not be immediately returned.

Membership Gives you Benefits! Current Arboretum Society Members receive a discount on adult education programs. Each Student or Individual Member may register for courses at the Member rate. Guests or family members do not quality for the discount and should register at the public rate. Household and higher level Members can register all household members, including dependents, at the Member discount rate.
Join Today! You can purchase an Arboretum Society Membership through this online program registration system. Please note that due to the software we are using, you will be purchasing a "seat" in a "course." Please print the confirmation email and bring to your next Arboretum visit to receive your full member benefits as soon as possible. Membership materials will arrive shortly by mail. To purchase, scroll down on the calendar to the month of August, and click on the membership category at which you would like to join.
Fees & Cancellation Policy: Adult education program registration fees include the parking fee for those who are not Arboretum Society Members. Arboretum Society Members always park free. If you must cancel your registration for a course, your registration fees, minus a 15% processing fee will be refunded if notice is given at least three business days before the event or you may choose to credit your online account the full amount. In the event the Arboretum must cancel a course, you will be notified by phone or email and receive a full refund.
Weather. Classes are held rain or shine – however, if inclement or severe weather threatens, please call the general Arboretum number, 828-665-2492, for a recorded message.
We're here to help. Due to the nature of the subject matter, many of our programs require moderate levels of physical activity, including being outdoors, standing for periods of time, moderate walking, etc. Please wear the appropriate clothing and footwear suited for your comfort level.
