Arboretum Outreach- Host the Arboretum at your School!

Any of our highly popular field trip programs can now be offered at your own school!  A great way to provide quality, hands-on STEM education with less time spent organizing and no transportation costs!

Arboretum outreach programs include the use of educational equipment and materials within the student’s schoolyard.  Benefits of this approach to science education include:

  • Less transportation costs and time spent out of the classroom than traditional field-trip programs;
  • Encouragement of outdoor physical fitness and recreation during science learning; and
  • Greater awareness of outdoor learning resources by teachers that can be used in instruction.

These programs can be offered at a cost of $4.00 per student, and can be condensed from the 90-minute program to a one-hour session to fit your classroom schedule.  Arboretum Educators bring equipment and materials including live animals, hands-on electronic devices, collections and more to create fun and exciting learning experiences- even in the winter months!  Contact Michelle Pearce, Youth Education Coordinator, at mpearce@ncarboretum.org or (828) 665-2492 ext 224 to arrange for any of the following programs to be offered at your school.
