The annual exhibition features award-winning roses of every color and size. Experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about the selection, care, and history of roses. Educational programs will be offered throughout the weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday, the society will offer several free presentations by members of the Asheville-Blue Ridge Rose Society. Below is the list of topics/times:
Saturday, May 27
1:00 p.m. – “Growing Roses in a No-Spray Garden, ” by Laurie Lewis, rosarian. Insights into what roses to grow and how to deal with potential problems.
2:00 p.m. – “Good Things come in Small Packages: Miniature and Mini-Flora Roses,” by Jeff Wray, rosarian. This talk will give information about the rose’s smaller cousins.
Sunday, May 28
1:00 p.m. – “Growing Roses for Beginners,” by Jim Tucker, consulting rosarian. His topic includes all the fundamentals of rose growing.
2:00 p.m. – “Care and Feeding of Roses,” by Judy Deutsch, consulting rosarian. She will explain all aspects of nutrient needs, fertilizer types and effects.
