Designate a Tribute
For those who wish to dedicate a gift for a special purpose, the following guide will help you make a choice of the way you wish to honor a friend, family member or loved one. The Arboretum acknowledges each contribution and provides a letter of notification to a specified family member/tribute contact or the individual in whose name the tribute has been established. Contributions to The North Carolina Arboretum Society are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
We have carefully selected existing established trees at the Arboretum for this program. Tribute trees are available for designation with a commemorative label at the following donation levels:
- $750.00 - $999.00
- $1,000 and above
For a complete list of trees or more information, please see the contact information below.
Existing as well as planned furnishings, selected for their beauty and durability, are available for designation with a commemorative label at the following donation levels:
- Rocking Chairs ($750 - $1,499)
- Benches ($1,500 and above)
Additional Tribute and Naming Opportunities
This listing is provided to serve as a guideline for giving prospects but is not a comprehensive list. Should you have a specialized interest (for example, in art, birds, etc.), we will be delighted to explore those possibilities with you.
Policy on Cremated Ashes
Scattering of cremated ashes, in a symbolic gesture using no more than a pinch of ashes, is permitted upon prior agreement with the Tribute Program Manager. Unless part of a memorial tree designation, we request that these ashes be scattered in the forested areas away from the cultivated gardens.
