School Programs
The Arboretum provides students and teachers with engaging, hands-on experiences to discover the wonders of the natural world in a safe learning environment. The Arboretum offers on- and off-site programs for schools.
Field Trips
Bring your school to the Arboretum to explore the property and learn alongside Arboretum Educators on a guided field trip. Our programs align with NC Essential Standards and provide a hands-on approach to learning! We also offer self-guided visits for schools interested in exploring our trails and gardens on their own.
Project EXPLORE
Bring outdoor education to your classroom! Project EXPLORE helps teachers utilize outdoor spaces at their school to engage preK – 12th grade students in standard-based learning activities. This citizen science-driven initiative utilizes the teach-the-teacher appraoch so that teachers gain the training and experience necessary to sustain their outdoor educatio efforts in subsequent years.
