One of the benefits of working at the Arboretum has always been the opportunities afforded by being associated with such a positively purposeful institution. I’ve enjoyed being able to document the story of all that happened to make bonsai at The North Carolina Arboretum what it is today and to spotlight a whole cast of colorful characters who have helped, endowed and enabled along the way.

The Journal provides a wealth of bonsai wisdom for students to apply in their own bonsai practice and to enhance their appreciation of the Arboretum’s distinctive approach to the art of bonsai.
