“Fall for Ikebana: Autumn Splendor” 

Ikebana International of Asheville is displaying “Fall for Ikebana: Autumn Splendor” exhibition at the North Carolina Arboretum Education Center Auditorium at 100 Frederick Law Olmsted Way, Asheville, NC. The exhibition will be open to the public on Saturday, October 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, October 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteer ikebana artists from the Ikebana International Asheville will be displaying the autumn splendor in flower arrangements that feature the spirits of select ikebana schools, including Ikenobo, Ichiyo, Ohara and Sogetsu schools. Ikebana, translated from Japanese as “living flowers,” is flower arrangements known worldwide for its grace and beauty.

This exhibition will be open to the public to enjoy and it is free to those with the NC Arboretum admission.

Ikebana provides a well-matched creative expression for modern Asheville as it combines nature, reflection, and art. The Asheville Chapter of Ikebana International presents a program on ikebana flower design and/or Japanese culture on the fourth Tuesday of every month, February through October.
