Into the Arctic showcases over 50 powerful paintings by Canadian painter, Cory Trépanier, featuring some of the most remote and wild corners of the Canadian Arctic. Drawn from four purposeful expeditions that spanned the course of a decade, this traveling exhibit is a time capsule of some of the planet’s most spectacular, yet fragile landscapes. Traveling only with a pack full of painting, filming and camping gear, Trépanier traversed over 40,000 kilometers, through six Arctic National Parks and 16 Arctic communities, to a biosphere so remote and untouched, that most of its vast landscape has never been painted before. The result is a remarkable, unique and moving body of work that includes an unsurpassed collection of paintings. A recipient of the Stefansson Medal, the highest award of The Explorers Club of Canada, Trépanier is also a fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

Into the Arctic is on display daily September 26, 2020 – January 3, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., inside the Baker Exhibit Center. Face coverings are required for visitors ages 5 years and older.
