Let’s dive into Appalachian medicinal plants! Dr. Michelle Bouton will orient us toward the therapeutic uses of medicinal plants based on their tastes: bitter taste drains, sweet taste nourishes, sour taste astringes, etc. Nothing drives home the lesson better than sensory interaction, so we will experience several of these plants via tasting teas and tinctures. Enjoy this low-cost overview (and handouts) as an introduction to Michelle’s fun, action-oriented teaching and a warm-up for The Romance of Plants to follow on June 23 and June 30.
