ONSITE | Wednesday, June 12, 10 a.m. – noon

Properly selected and placed, Japanese maples, roses, conifers and even some types of edible plants can be showpieces that enhance your garden or landscape. Students will explore the various types and classifications of Japanese maples and learn about selection, cultivation, and care. Many different cultivars of Japanese maples, suitable for planting in western North Carolina, will be on display. Also discussed will be varieties of roses, conifers, and evergreens. Learn about a cultivar of Camellia sinensis (or tea plant) appropriate for our zone, so you can grow and harvest your own tea. The registration fee includes a Japanese maple seedling for students to select upon completion of the class.
