ONSITE | Saturday, June 8, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Learn simple tips for leading engaging walks that encourage curiosity and discovery and evoke wonder in the natural world. Naturalist Jessie Wilder, who was certified as an interpretive guide through the National Association of Interpretation, leads this skill-building session in the Arboretum forest. She helps participants deepen their own awareness of the natural world and practice interpreting so as to evoke wonder in others. Whether you are leading a walk as a professional or out for a stroll in the woods with your children or grandchildren, you can pick up tips, such as incorporating the use of stories, props, analogies, poetry, “I spy” or even breaking into song, for ways to make your walks more fun and meaningful.
