This event is now SOLD OUT!
Learn about these amazing creatures of the night as we prowl the woods and discover owls’ habitats, behaviors and language. As part of the Arboretum’s new In the Dark exhibit, this family-friendly event will feature hands-on activities, including an owl pellet dissection, nighttime guided hikes through the Arboretum property, educational programming and a live owl presentation. Whooooo knows? You might get a call back from a live wild owl!
Visitors can join us anytime from 6 – 8 p.m. inside the Baker Exhibit Center. Hikes will begin at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. inside the Baker Exhibit Center lobby. Please dress warmly and wear comfortable hiking shoes (flashlights are encouraged). Attendance is free, however, online registration is required and standard non-member parking fees apply. A suggested five-dollar per person donation is welcomed and will help support The North Carolina Arboretum Society. Children must be accompanied by an adult during all activities.
Participants in the Arboretum’s ecoEXPLORE program will earn five bonus points for attending this event.
