Artist Leo Monahan was the first recipient of the prestigious Disney Scholarship to Chouinard Art Institute in the early 1950s. He later went on to teach design and color principles at CalArts and to Disney Imagineers.
Trained in Bauhuas design and color principles, Monahan creates modern masterworks of paper sculpture. His newest exhibit, Shadow and Color, is composed of paper that has been manipulated using a variety of techniques that feature nature and still life scenes.
