Can photography radically change your relationship with the natural world? Award-winning documentary photographer Susan Patrice believes it can. On Friday, January 22, Patrice will be sharing images and stories from her most recent project, The Enveloping Landscape, which features stunning, round, black and white photographs that offer a unique view of the beautiful and sometimes threatened forests of the Southern Appalachian region. Nature enthusiasts and photographers of all levels are invited to attend this free artist talk to learn more about the power of everyday photography to animate love, encourage meaningful dialogue, and most importantly, inspire an increased commitment to caring for our common home. Patrice will also be sharing information about how you can participate in her newly launched citizen-photography project Photo Terra, which pairs local photographers with regional non-profit and conservation organizations.
