The North Carolina Arboretum is excited to announce the return of Dr. Richard Stamelman on Tuesday, August 21, from 6 – 8 p.m. inside the Education Center. Due to traffic challenges accessing the Arboretum for Dr. Stamelman’s talk on June 8, the Arboretum is offering another opportunity to hear from Dr. Stamelman and celebrate the Making Scents exhibit once more before it leaves the Arboretum on September 3.

Author of “Perfume: Joy, Obsession, Scandal, Sin; A Cultural History of Fragrance from 1750 to the Present,” Dr. Stamelman will explore the mysterious allure behind fragrances and the plants that are used to make them. Dr. Stamelman’s work inspired the original Making Scents exhibit and he has lent his expertise to the Arboretum as we recreated and curated the exhibit. A brief Q&A will follow the lecture.

Space is limited and registration is required. This event is free, however, donations to The North Carolina Arboretum Society are welcomed. Standard Arboretum parking fees apply.
