Discover the constellations, bright stars, planets, and deep sky objects that are most apparent in summertime in Southern Appalachia, including the Summer Triangle and the red supergiants Arcturus and Antares! During this online class, astronomer and physicist Stephan Martin takes us through the basic use of planispheres and star charts to find our way around the night sky and shares some lore around what’s visible to the naked eye or with binoculars and small telescopes in this season.
The class registration includes the Summer Sky Watch, a unique virtual stargazing event that you can enjoy from your own back yard later the same night.
