ONSITE | Thursday, February 22, 1 – 4 p.m.

Look to spice blends to brighten a bland dish and warm you during the colder months as well as provide surprising health benefits. Join Chef Nanette Davidson on this culinary adventure for a zesty introduction to the spices of India. Learn to make your own Madras curry powder and garam masala and find out more about the healing qualities of ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamon and other traditional Indian spices. We’ll turn the Arboretum classroom into a pop-up kitchen and prepare simple recipes for chutneys, dahls, biryani, papadam, and golden milk. Take either or both parts of this two-part workshop: Each part includes a discussion of featured herbs and spices, a spice blending session and a tasting of dishes created with the blends. Registration includes a $30 fee for supplies.
